Today we went to the Takamaka Community Centre with a clear message: STOP DESTROYING OUR ISLANDS. ❌‼️ We were there to make it known from the very beginning that we strongly oppose the proposed luxury hotel, resort and marina at Police Bay, Mahé. Today marks the start of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. This is the moment to pay attention. This is the moment to speak up. We must make it absolutely clear to both the developers and the Government that this project does not have our support. The public meeting will be announced soon. When it is, we need every voice in the room. Don’t sit this one out. This is our opportunity to defend a place that belongs to every Seychellois. 🔈 We’ve been here before. We watched developments like Assomption Island move forward despite widespread public concern. We watched the systems, processes and institutions fail us. We cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Seychellois deserve better. We deserve genuine participation in decisions that shape our islands, our environment and our future, not consultation as a box-ticking exercise. Enough is enough. If we fail to act now, we risk losing the last truly wild places that define Mahe. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. Future generations deserve the chance to experience the same untouched landscapes that we inherited. Will you stand with us? Will you come to the public meeting and help protect Police Bay?
