Once again, Assomption is in the dark. Once again, decisions are being made behind closed doors. The government has confirmed that construction of parts of the hotel may resume once biosecurity measures are in place. This breaks President Herminie’s December 2025 commitment: no construction for at least a year, until a biodiversity assessment is completed. We only found out because it was mentioned in the final minutes of the @sif_seychelles Public Inquiry deposition. There was no public announcement. No transparency. ⁉️ How can we trust a government that says one thing publicly and does another quietly? ⁉️ How can we trust a Task Force made up of the exact same entities that put us here in the first place? ⁉️ How can we trust developers to suddenly become protectors of the environment? ⁉️ Why are decisions being made before the Public Inquiry report is even published? We do not have eyes on Assomption that we can trust. And frankly, it is exhausting to have to scrutinise every sentence, every hearing, every announcement, just to find out what is really happening to our natural heritage. 😵 Seychellois deserve better.
