250 GD, the workhorse diesel

The 250 GD replaced the 240 GD in 1987 with a 2.5-litre five-cylinder diesel. It became the basis for the Bundeswehr's 'Wolf' and for military orders across Europe, and is the single most-produced G-Class variant of the era. The vehicle or site is period; this photograph was taken in 2021.
