A hat cut from a pheasant-print carré, 1976
1976
A woman's hat made in Paris by Hermès in 1976 from a printed silk shawl — upright crown, turned-back brim, a pheasant's head across the top and the excess gathered into a bow at the back. Held by Museum Rotterdam as object 74047; a carré put to work as something other than a scarf.
