Marshall Jefferson on house and the LGBTQ club scene

A short piece in which Jefferson describes making music for rooms that were overwhelmingly Black, Latino and gay, the ballroom and club world later filmed in Paris Is Burning. House was not adopted by queer nightlife, it was made inside it, and this states that directly rather than treating it as background.
