Uniqlo announces a return to downtown

Uniqlo, which shut its three-floor flagship at 111 Powell Street in 2021 during the downtown retail exodus, announced it would reopen at 801 Market Street in the former Old Navy flagship. The announcement was read locally as the clearest reversal of the departures that had emptied Union Square.
