The Harry Bridges School of Labor teaches the general strike

A 2024 session of the Harry Bridges School of Labor on the 1934 San Francisco general strike, covering the conditions that produced it, the strike itself and its aftermath, and screening part of an older ILWU documentary. Bridges led ILA Local 38-79 in 1934 and went on to serve as ILWU president until 1977. The union still stops work in every West Coast port each 5 July.
