Elections department counts ballots as mayoral race hangs

The day after the 2024 election, San Francisco's Department of Elections was still processing close to 160,000 ballots, leaving the mayoral result unresolved under ranked-choice tabulation. Daniel Lurie ultimately led through all fourteen rounds of counting.
