Newsreel cameras on the Embarcadero during the waterfront strike

A 1934 theatrical newsreel on the West Coast longshore strike, which ran 82 days from 9 May to 30 July and turned on the union's demand for a hiring hall to replace the shape-up. The footage covers the Embarcadero fighting of Bloody Thursday, 5 July, when police moved to open the docks and Howard Sperry and Nick Bordoise were shot dead.
