Warren Jeffs was convicted in Texas on 9 August 2011 on two counts of sexual assault of a child and sentenced to life, with parole eligibility in 2038. The 2008 raid on the group's Texas ranch that produced the evidence also placed 416 children in state custody, most of whom Texas courts later ordered returned.
