Frankie Knuckles live at the Warehouse, Chicago, September 1981
1981
A cassette recording of Frankie Knuckles playing the Warehouse, the South Side members' club where a Black gay crowd danced to records a New York DJ reshaped for them, and whose name the music was eventually given. The Warehouse ran 1977 to 1982, so a September 1981 tape catches Knuckles in the room's last full year. Audio only, from a private tape collection.
