Footage from the New York festival where Rare Pepe trading cards, issued on the Counterparty layer built on Bitcoin, were put up for auction in January 2018. The card known as Homer Pepe sold there on 13 January 2018 for around $38,500, an early instance of a meme image trading as a collectible token.
