Chinese American men and a child beneath hanging lanterns
1896
Arnold Genthe photographed this group standing in front of a Chinatown building strung with lanterns. Children appear rarely in his Chinatown work, which makes them a recurring point of interest in the series. The gelatin silver print is held by the Library of Congress.
