Loreline (loreline.live) is a collaborative story platform where anyone can upload footage, photos, and clips and assemble them into a "loreline" — a living visual story that plays back in chronological order, with scenes ordered by the real date they happened.

How does Loreline work?

Each loreline is a timeline of scenes (photos, video clips, or embedded media such as YouTube). Scenes are placed by their real capture date, so the finished loreline plays back as a chronological story. Multiple people can contribute to the same public loreline, so the story grows and evolves over time.

You can create your own story from scratch, browse and watch public lorelines on topics like history, music, sports, film, and culture, contribute footage to open community stories, and embed any public loreline into a blog or article.

DNBIt starts with a six-second drum break from a 1969 B-side. Sped up and chopped over sound-system bass at the hardcore raves of the early nineties, it became jungle — a music built in London bedrooms, cut to dubplate, and broadcast from tower-block pirate stations before any label would touch it. By 1995 it had a canon of its own: Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Photek, Roni Size. Then it split and kept splitting — the dark precision of techstep and neurofunk, the melodic warmth of liquid, the rolling weight of jump-up — and turned into an unusually label-shaped music, where Metalheadz, Hospital, RAM and V Recordings each stood for a sound. This is that whole arc: the raves, the records, the MCs and pirate radio, and the festivals from Rampage in Antwerp to Let It Roll.
PsytrancePsychedelic trance began as a DJ practice on a beach. Through the 1970s and 80s the freaks who wintered in Anjuna and Vagator swapped guitars for tape decks, and by the early 1990s the edits they played at the full-moon parties had become a genre of its own — Goa trance, with its own labels in London and Tel Aviv and its own canon of records. Then it split, over and over: the Israeli full-on that filled arenas, the darkpsy and forest strains that went the other way into the night, the patient progressive sound, the psychill of the chillout dome, and a global festival circuit from Boom in Portugal to Ozora in Hungary to Universo Paralello on a Brazilian beach. This is that whole evolution — the records, the parties, the archival footage and the people.
