The Chaos Computer Club's Blinkenlights installation at the 22nd Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin, December 2005. The CCC, founded in 1981, is the oldest and most politically serious hacker organisation in Europe, and its annual congress predates DEF CON by more than a decade.
