Rose Bertin — First Celebrity Designer

Rose Bertin, "Minister of Fashion" to Marie Antoinette. Designed the Queen's wardrobe from her Rue Saint-Honoré shop. The first commoner-designer-as-celebrity in European history. Made the news, lost everything in 1789.
