A Kelly in red crocodile, photographed in 2011. The bag began life as the Sac à dépêches, a squared-off trapeze with a turn-lock and a single handle; Hermès only renamed it the Kelly in 1977, twenty-one years after Grace Kelly was photographed holding one in front of her.
