Dense crowd in the rain, Street Parade 2009

A tight mass of people on the route under grey skies. About 600,000 came to the 2009 parade despite continuous rain, cold and swine flu warnings, well down on previous years. The ambulance service treated an unusual number of people for hypothermia caused by soaked clothing and thin costumes.
