The company bulldozing a protected Albanian wetland is owned through Dutch shell companies in Amsterdam. The same hidden owners control jet fuel at Albania’s main airport and a healthcare network under criminal investigation. All kept anonymous through a legal Dutch loophole: stay under 25% ownership and your identity never has to be disclosed. My opinion is that the Netherlands should do something about this strange law as it fuels corruption worldwide. Dutch corporate law is being used as a shield to hide who profits from projects under criminal investigation.
