Sailing card advertising the clipper California for San Francisco

A printed sailing card for the clipper ship California, run by the Merchant's Express Line out of Pier 13 on New York's East River under Captain Henry Barber, with gold rush scenes worked into the design. Cards like this were handed to shippers to book cargo for the fast passage around the Horn. It was printed by G.F. Nesbitt and Co.
