Sailing card advertising the clipper ship California

A printed sailing card issued to advertise berths and cargo space on the clipper California, running from Pier 13 on New York's East River to San Francisco. The card promises a very quick trip and urges merchants to book at once, competing for gold rush traffic. Its border carries scenes of the California diggings; the ship was built by Samuel Hall of East Boston and printed matter came from G.F. Nesbitt and Co.
