By early 2017 the full screenplay, 30,000 words, is copypasta. Tumblr users reblog it in full. Twitter users post it as a quote-reply weapon. A YouTube user uploads the entire film sped up to play every time the word bee is said; the video draws 23 million views by 2018. 02. Forgotten Film as Eternal Material The Bee Movie remix economy includes: the whole film played in reverse, the whole film at one frame per word, the whole film with the audio replaced by Whip and Nae Nae, the whole film overdubbed by Trump impersonator. The film is the closest thing the 2010s has to a public-domain remix substrate. Seinfeld, asked about it in a 2018 New York Times interview, says he does not understand it and finds the attention to a film he made for his kids exhausting. The script keeps circulating regardless.
