Eight Seconds Outside a Bar Tim Dickson and Dee Dickson, street interviewers operating as Tim and Dee TV, film 21-year-old Hailey Welch outside a bar on Broadway in Nashville on 11 June 2024. They ask Welch what move drives a man wild in bed. Welch replies 'oh you gotta give him that hawk tuah and spit on that thang.' The clip is posted 19 June. It hits 30 million views in five days. Welch's identity is unknown for several weeks. The internet calls her the Hawk Tuah Girl. She is doxxed by mid-July. Brand offers begin arriving immediately. 02. Podcast and Token Welch launches the Talk Tuah podcast with Jake Paul in August 2024 to over one million downloads in its first week. She signs with Penguin Random House for a memoir. In December 2024 a Hawk Tuah Solana memecoin launches with Welch's apparent endorsement, then crashes by 95 percent within hours, becoming the largest celebrity-endorsed memecoin rug-pull of the year. Welch denies involvement. The cycle, eight seconds to memoir deal to memecoin scandal, is the canonical 2024 brand-arc for a TikTok-discovered person.
