BBC Begins Regular TV Broadcasts

On 2 November 1936 the BBC launches the world's first regular high-definition public television service from Alexandra Palace in London, alternating between the Baird and Marconi-EMI systems. Television moves from laboratory demonstration to a scheduled broadcast medium.
