Netflix — already a DVD-by-mail business since 1997 — launches its streaming service in January 2007 with 1,000 titles. By 2010 streaming surpasses DVD shipments. By 2013 Netflix produces its first original series, House of Cards. The cable-TV bundle starts to unravel.
