Jikji — First Book Printed with Movable Metal Type

The Korean Buddhist anthology Jikji, printed at the Heungdeok temple in Cheongju seventy-eight years before the Gutenberg Bible. Two volumes survive; the second is held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France, taken during the Joseon-era diplomatic mission and never returned.
