How to recognise propaganda
JUN 15 2017 · 12:00
A Cold War era educational film that teaches viewers to spot loaded language, name-calling, testimonials, bandwagon appeals and the transfer of prestige. It belongs to the school of propaganda analysis that grew out of the 1930s and became civic instruction once the Cold War made persuasion a permanent condition. The film is also a period artefact: what it treats as propaganda is largely what the other side produced.
