An Ealing Studios feature made for the War Office, prepared here for American troops with an added intelligence-service introduction. It dramatises careless talk by following overheard fragments through to a costly failed raid, so the audience watches its own habits produce the casualties. Fiction is used as a disciplinary tool: the film punishes the viewer rather than lecturing them.
