A 1957 fundraising film for the Crusade for Freedom, narrated by Walter Cronkite, showing how donations supposedly built Radio Free Europe. Two techniques stack here: a trusted broadcaster lends his credibility to the appeal, and Hollywood actors restage life under communism so that dramatisation is received as documentary. The campaign's presentation as a spontaneous citizens' effort is itself part of the message.
