A home-front short made by 20th Century Fox for the Office of War Information, aimed at women and built around a simulated air raid on an ordinary American town. The technique is displacement: it brings a distant war into the viewer's own street so that rationing, rule-following and small sacrifices become self-defence rather than duty. The threat it stages never came, but the compliance it asked for was real.
