The Seychelles government has been trying to fool its people. ⁉️❌ President Herminie of Seychelles came into office in Oct 2025 with a promise to halt the destructive 6* hotel construction on Assomption Island, complete a full, 1-year biodiversity assessment, and not make any further decisions about the project until the results of a national investigation were released. He issued a construction stop notice… …but in February 2026, a “variation notice” followed. No-one knew what it was. Now the results of the national investigation have been released, and reveal that this “variation notice” allowed construction to continue on over 30 buildings for the past 5 MONTHS?! ‼️ Seychellois people were promised transparency - but these actions have shown the opposite. It’s a pattern of betrayal, Seychellois people are routinely ignored, blind-sided and de-prioritised. Foreign investors appear to come first, always.
