The Limestone Comes Back Up

As glacial sea levels fell the platform emerged again and rainwater began dissolving it into the two terrain types that define Aldabra: "champignon", a pitted mushroom-rock surface so sharp it shreds boots, and flatter "platin" cut with pools. That terrain is the single biggest reason the atoll was never farmed, settled or built on.
