With Stoddart in charge, the Royal Society mounted the full expedition the campaign had promised, producing the body of work later published as a dedicated Philosophical Transactions volume and an Atoll Research Bulletin series. Aldabra went from barely known to one of the best-described tropical islands on Earth in about five years.
