Seychelles announced the final marine protected area designations that took its protected share of the exclusive economic zone from 0.04% to 30%, delivering on the debt-swap commitment. The waters around Aldabra fall in the strictest tier, with all extractive use — fishing and petroleum exploration alike — banned.
