At COP29, I had the privilege of working on behalf of and to deliver letters to…

At COP29, I had the privilege of working on behalf of @reservaylt and @overstories.earth to deliver letters to Seychelles Ministers. These letters carried a strong message from youth and environmental advocates urging action to halt a hotel development on Assumption Island, a project that threatens fragile ecosystems and unique species. Alongside this, I mobilized young voices to join the call for safeguarding Assumption Island. The collective power of our voices is vital, and I believe change happens when we act together. Let’s keep this momentum alive and make an impact for Seychelles! Why it matters: 🐟🐢🪼 The Seychelles is a treasure trove of biodiversity, home to countless endemic species such as the Seychelles magpie-robin, Aldabra giant tortoise, and Seychelles sheath-tailed bat, found nowhere else in the world. This island nation harbors delicate ecosystems, including coral reefs, mangroves, and unique terrestrial habitats, which are critical for global biodiversity, climate regulation, and local livelihoods. Unchecked development threatens these ecosystems, endangering species and the ecological balance they support. Protecting the Seychelles is about more than preserving its beauty—it’s about safeguarding an irreplaceable part of Earth’s natural heritage for future generations. Add your voice by sharing this message, supporting conservation initiatives, and urging leaders to prioritize biodiversity over short-term development. Together, we can stand for a future where nature and people thrive side by side.
