Aldabra is an isolated and protected sanctuary —a UNESCO World Heritage Site, standing as one of the rarest examples of a thriving coral atoll ecosystem. Construction on nearby Assomption Island is set to begin, threatening Aldabra’s delicate ecosystem and endangering one of Earth’s last nearly untouched marine treasures.
