UNESCO Inscribes Aldabra as a World Heritage Site

Aldabra was listed under natural criteria (vii), (ix) and (x) as an outstanding raised coral atoll and a natural laboratory for evolutionary and ecological processes, covering 35,000 hectares. It was one of the earliest natural sites inscribed anywhere in Africa — and the designation the campaign of the 2020s keeps holding up.
