Solar Power Replaces the Station's Diesel

A 25 kWp hybrid photovoltaic-diesel system was installed at the research station; in its first year it supplied 94% of the station's electricity and cut diesel demand by 97%. Every drum of fuel had to be shipped 1,150 km, so this was as much a logistics fix as an environmental one.
