Seychellois people have been lied to for MONTHS 🇸🇨🚨 The 6* luxury resort that has been endangering Aldabra Atoll, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the outer islands of Seychelles, was supposed to be halted after the new Seychelles President came into office in October 2025. But in February 2026, the government issued a “variation notice” allowing construction to resume on the island. No-one knew what that meant, and the government never clearly told its people what was happening. ‼️ An independent national investigation has now revealed it allowed construction of OVER 30 of the hotel’s buildings to continue for 5 MONTHS ‼️ The Seychelles government has used strategic silence and half-truths to betray their commitments to Seychellois people and the world. Seychellois people deserve a say in what happens to our islands. We shouldn’t be consistently lied to and de-prioritised in favour of foreign developers.
