Birth of Crown Prince Leka

Crown Prince Leka was born at the royal palace in Tirana on 5 April 1939 and the birth was marked with a 101-gun salute and a military parade. Anti-Italian demonstrations broke out in Tirana the same day. He was two days old when the Italian invasion began.
