Held in Rome, then return to Albania

1918

After Austria-Hungary's collapse Zogu was held in Rome from 1918 to 1919. He returned to Albania in 1919, into a country whose borders and government were still being decided by the Paris peace conference. His absence during the war's end left him outside the discredited pro-Italian Durrës administration.
