Zog refuses to renew the First Treaty of Tirana

The First Treaty of Tirana ran for five years from November 1926, and Zog declined to renew it on expiry. The refusal was part of the same assertion of independence that saw him reject Italy's conditions and dismiss its advisers. It did not free him from the underlying debt.
