Xhemal Pasha Zogu, hereditary governor of Mat

Xhemal Pasha Zogu, Zog's father, held the hereditary governorship of Mat under Ottoman rule and lived at Burgajet Castle. He married more than once; Zog was his son by his second wife Sadije Toptani. He died in 1911, passing the position to the teenaged Ahmet over his eldest son. The year here is nominal; the sources do not give Xhemal Pasha's birth date. Only his death in 1911 is firmly dated.
