Fier uprising against Zog

JUN 1935

An anti-Zogist uprising broke out at Fier in March 1935. Riza Cerova, returning from the Soviet Union, was among its leaders and recruited peasants in the Mallakastra and Skrapar regions. Government forces put the revolt down and Cerova was killed in a clash in the Mokra region in August 1935.
