First Treaty of Tirana signed with Italy

The First Treaty of Tirana, a pact of friendship and security, was signed on 27 November 1926 for five years. Each state undertook not to conclude agreements prejudicial to the other's interests, which in practice guaranteed both Zogu's position and Albania's frontiers. A northern highland uprising had pushed Zogu toward the Italian guarantee.
