Virgle: Google and Virgin colonise Mars

Google and Richard Branson's Virgin Group jointly announced Virgle Inc., a venture to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars. The hoax featured videos from Branson, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, real NASA imagery and a '100 Year Plan'. Applicant questions included expertise in Guitar Hero II. Branson promoted it on The Late Late Show, fooling much of the wireless industry press.
