CADIE, Google's fake artificial intelligence

Google announced the Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity, an AI it claimed had spontaneously emerged from its research and taken over multiple products. CADIE 'redesigned' Gmail, Maps, Chrome and Earth with deliberately garish results and posted a childlike blog. The gag ended with mock system-restoration messages as engineers supposedly regained control.
