A 10-year-old girl in Palermo, Italy died in hospital after being found unconscious by her younger sister; her parents said she had been attempting a self-strangulation game seen online. Palermo prosecutors opened an investigation, and Italy's data protection authority ordered TikTok to block users whose age it could not verify as over 13. TikTok said it could not identify content on its platform that had encouraged her participation.
