The first No Pants Subway Ride

On 5 January 2002 Charlie Todd launched the No Pants Subway Ride with just seven participants removing their trousers on a single New York subway car, with a new pantless rider boarding at each consecutive stop. The event grew to more than 3,000 participants in New York alone and was replicated in over 60 cities across 25 countries. It became the longest-running recurring public prank of the internet era, predating YouTube by three years.
