Game for a Laugh begins on ITV

ITV launched Game for a Laugh with Jeremy Beadle, Matthew Kelly, Henry Kelly and Sarah Kennedy, mixing studio games such as the Dunk Tank and the Pie Chair with elaborate set-ups sprung on members of the public. It ran to November 1985 across 56 episodes and made Beadle a household name, leading directly to Beadle's About. It reintroduced the hidden-camera prank to British prime time after a long absence.
